WPA - in Ubuntu 6.06 LTS

I fighted with this myself as well.

Solution: I installed network-manager and network-manager-gnome. Then
I emptied /etc/network/interfaces. After this, I rebooted. After reboot,
network-mnager discovered the available WLANs and I selected mine. Upon
doing that, I was prompted for the PSK.

I don't use this.
