The original poster asked for pdf2jpg and the above seems to be a php
script. I haven't seen the script but I bet it calls imagemagick. A
better option might be to use imagemagick directly.
For converting between different graphic file formats, it's hard to
beat the convenience of imagemagick, and the package is readily
available for install in ubuntu. The conversion options are very
straightforward, because generally it does the right thing based on
the file extensions.
That said, I have found pdf conversion using imagemagick to require
tweaking to get the results I expect, so be sure to dig through the
documentation to learn the options. (When you install it, extensive
HTML docs get installed on your system, or you can visit the same
information on the web.) Specifically, you may need to set the
resolution and compression because the defaults may not suit you.
