unable to open slave

Stranger & stranger...I just read your post so I tried gedit on the file 
  (fstab) that I was working on yesterday and the error message has 
disappeared??
I've got all the same applications open, not sure if I've opened them in 
the same order though.
Oh well, I 'll just have to keep an eye out for it to occur again.
