Networking halts after dapper upgrade

/etc/init.d/networking seems to halt startup after I upgraded to dapper. It
halts on mounting the last ext3 partition in fstab, but I think this is
actually networking halting because the partition is mounted when I kill all
process with:
alt+sysRq+e
and then do
/etc/init.d/networking restart
when everything has loaded, everything is then ok.
I have a wireless card but what I don't understand is why it works
fine when the system is up. Is there a problem with the startup scripts when
upgrading from Breezy to Dapper?
Perhaps there is something else causing trouble on startup? But how do
I find out?
