Accidentally destroyed /lib/modules directory.

Ubuntu List,

I accidentally deleted everything in my /lib/modules directory by 
misunderstanding some instructions while installing some drivers.

I'm worried that this has destabilized my system and that if I reboot, 
my computer will die a nasty and horrible death.

Is there anything I can, or should do, to verify my system is okay 
before rebooting and finding out the hard way?
