I don't know, not having a multiprocessor myself.  My only other 
suggestion would be to run a memtest.  Not certain how useful it'll be, 
but I would bet on a bad memory causing even more problems for a dual 
core than a single core processor.  If that comes up clean, I'm out of 
ideas.
