Google applications in Dapper AMD64

Hi all,

I'm trying to use the two google applications -picasa and earth- which have 
been ported to linux in KUbuntu 6.06 and an AMD64 machine. Despite I've 
installed all the IA32 compatibility stuff, both crash. Can anybody point to 
a way to solve this (if that should be possible)?
