skype

anyone had a problem running skype on Ubuntu 5.10??

all of a sudden, it seems that when i start skype, only 1 or 2 of the
contacts will show up (out of 8), and when i call someone, all i get is
"problem with sound device".  This seems to happen randomly.  I'll be on
a call with someone (with audio), and the call will just drop for no
apparent reason.  restarting the process does not help it.  The first
time or two that it happened without a solution, i rebooted the client,
and it worked again (for a while).  Lately, rebooting the entire machine
doesn't do anything for it either.

Anyone have any suggestions? (another app maybe?) ...
