You are right but I need this for things when I receive a document
such a contract or a work of an employee that I need to review. I
don't want to print the pdf file then put my comment on it then scan
and email it. I would like to put my comments right on the file
itself.
Well, we don't have to use pdf. We don't have to use MS Office b/c
there is Openoffice. I wish Linux gurus start a project for a new
format or even start improving postscript and start publicize etc. We
can not just stay under the control of Adobe.
Another idea is to make a program that can open pdf and ps files for
reading. If the user need to edit or add a comment to the pdf file an
error msg appears saying "the pdf file cannot be edited , do you want
to convert it to ps?" Then the user accepts and the file is converted
to ps. The user then makes his/her changes. Finally, the user saves
the file as pdf or even to ps then convert it to pdf.
