My first time using this list.
I installed Ubuntu on my 4 year old dell laptop and it works great. Now
I tried to do the same on 1 year old desktop with 2GIG of ram 3.2
processor and it won't complete the live cd on ubuntu, edubuntu, xubuntu
or kubuntu. It did install from the server cd.
I was running Breezy on both machine for about a year. Now for the
question How do I get a desktop running on the new machine?
I have tried sudo apt-get install gdm
sudo apt-get install xserver-xorg x-window-system-core ubuntu
What am I missing, startx works, but I only get a color blank screen
after login.
I have looked for 2 hrs at the the documentation online and ???
