Installing in existing LVM Volume Group?

ext3? Why that? What good does the journal do? I usually tend to make
/boot a ext2 filesystem and I usually don't mount /boot - I just mount
it, when it's required.

Anyway - how are the files named, that are put in /boot? On my current
Gentoo Linux installation, I've got:

Would there be collisions? How about the vmlinuz and System.map files?
Are those filenames used by Ubuntu as well?
