I used to have the same problem. But somehow my friends told me it's because 
the hotplug. So I removed hotplug and install udev for replacement (with 
pmount too). It works now .... 

PS: I don't care how my usb sticks were named after mount. I just want it 
works :p

PS #2: I'm using Kubuntu (naaahh ... doesn't have any effect I think)
