Game Chess, How to play in Ubuntu with computer.

Hello Friends, 
I have down loaded the Emacs chess,gnome-chess,chess-2.Ob5, all these
files are stored in Home. Most of the files are text files, as soon as I
open them the text is appeared but how to open them as a board game and
play chess with computer. I tried my best and failed. Will somebody
guide me how to do it.

RE: Evolution compose section TT,bold italics,underline, these icons do
not work but left-right-central aliened icons do work. Will you please
tell me how to rectify this ?
