delete "Open with" program for a file type

No no no! :) Read my original reply again. You did not say in your
original post that you had used "Open With", just "the documentation
nicely explains how to add an Open with entry". I assumed that you had
used Rightclick -> Properties -> Open With to add the application for
the file type. That's why I said "the same way as you created it". 

To remove, to this: Rightclick a file of the type you want to change. In
the context menu, choose "Properties". In the dialog, go to the tab
"Open With". Select the application in the list and click "Remove" at
the bottom of the dialog window.
