Artwiz fonts not showing up in font menus (or on screen!)

Hi folks,

I've installed ubuntu's artwiz fonts, but I can't seem to get them to
register with font menus, and hence, applications. (I'm particularly
fond of snap.) I'm running 6.06 on a Toshiba Satellite 1905-s303 with
all the latest system upgrades installed. I've also looked at the ubuntu
wiki page regarding these fonts, and following those steps, including
changes to xorg.conf, I'm still at square 1, or maybe 1.0.1. Here's what
the relevant portion of the xorg.conf looks like...

Section "Files"
	FontPath	"/usr/share/X11/fonts/misc"
	FontPath	"/usr/share/X11/fonts/cyrillic"
	FontPath	"/usr/share/X11/fonts/100dpi/:unscaled"
	FontPath	"/usr/share/X11/fonts/75dpi/:unscaled"
	FontPath	"/usr/share/X11/fonts/Type1"
	FontPath	"/usr/share/X11/fonts/CID"
	FontPath	"/usr/share/X11/fonts/100dpi"
	FontPath	"/usr/share/X11/fonts/75dpi"
	FontPath "/usr/share/X11/fonts/artwiz-aleczapka-en-1.3/"
        # paths to defoma fonts
	FontPath	"/var/lib/defoma/x-ttcidfont-conf.d/dirs/TrueType"
	FontPath	"/var/lib/defoma/x-ttcidfont-conf.d/dirs/CID"

Anything else I should be examining?
