upgraded to dapper, now no wireless or sound

Hi,

Had a great install of breezy running on my laptop, until I upgraded to
dapper.  Now there's no wireless, nor any sound.  I feel like an angry, deaf
mime.

Any advice or pointers about when wireless may get fixed?  For me this is
more urgent than sound, though both would be nice.
