I just thought of something else - doesn't Windows Update these days 
test for apps running under wine, and make some/all installs fail?

MS EULAs lately even go so far as to say "this software may only be 
deployed on a Microsoft platform" or some such other rubbish. If this 
is the case, we'd all have to spoof something to get IE6 to install.
