Wine ('WINE Is Not an Emulator') - there are also proprietary forms of
WINE like Crossover Office, but they cost money of course. Wine is in the
repositories for Ubuntu.
You might also look at vmplayer and/or qemu as emulators. Both are in the
Ubuntu repositories ( vmplayer is now in "multiverse" for Ubuntu 6.06 )
There are wiki pages on each
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KQEmu
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/VMwarePlayerAndQemu
I'm not sure if the automated script mentioned for KQemu has yet been
updated for 6.06
Of course, if possible, find native apps that will do what you need -
search the Synaptic Package Manager or the Add/Remove program in the
main Applications menu.
