I'm guessing that you didn't accept the help it offerred by listing
"init(8)" in the "See also" section.  That referrence was, no doubt,
the main reason for the existence of the "runlevel(8)" manpage.  But
you're probably better off reading the web pages, etc. that others
have recommended and then reading "init(8)".  Read more than just the
"RUNLEVELS" section to get better insite into one of the most
important aspects of your Unixy OS.
