Successful dapper drake install on Dell Inspiron 9400 Core Duo

G'day,



My first post!



No help on the Intel graphics issue, sorry but in line with original
thread am posting a me too...



I have a clean install of Dapper Drake 6.06 running on my Inspiron 9400
and (so far) everything has gone smoothly.



All I've needed to do is 'install the linux-686 kernel to get SMP
support for the Duo Core' (http://tinyurl.com/qjo8y) processor.



I've yet to upgrade the nVidia (GeForce 7900 GS) drivers, and there's
still a lot I've yet to test, e.g. WiFi is not working, ExpressCard...



I'm a complete Ubuntu neophyte this being an ugrade from an Acer Aspire
1703SC running Redat Linux v9.  As such I'm 'blogging'
(http://ubuntu-linux-dell-inspiron-9400.blogspot.com/) what I learn
along the way...
