Hello, list,

On my notebook, i wonder to use xgl with gnome. And i have done the follow
test.
My card is

wangpenghui at thinkpad X11 $ lspci | grep VGA
0000:01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc Radeon Mobility
M7 LW [Radeon Mobility 7500]

1. Boot with kororaa xgl liveCD, after login, the gnome+xgl works great
except play the example video.
2. Install SuSE 10.1 and configure it use xgl under gnome follow the
tutorial.
http://www.novell.com/coolsolutions/feature/17174.html
The only different is i use ATI card instead of Nvidia Card.
It also works great.
3. Install Ubuntu Dapper 6.06 LTS. configure it use xgl under gnome follow
the tutorial
http://www.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=131253
And i use the driver "radeon" for the graphic card.
But it will always stay trying to start gdm with a white load mouse in the
center of the screen.
And there is no Xorg error in the log.

Did anyone have some experiences?
