dapper freeze

folks,

I'm installing fresh dapper to Acer Veriton 7700GX - the liveCD loaded up
one small rectangle with ubuntu logo in it - and freezes up to there.

i was very eager to show to out IT manager and it sucks now. please help
urgently.
