Are you sure you followed the wiki, installing support for any of the 
CJK languages (so at least Korean, Japanese or Chinese)?

language-support-ja/ko/zh all depend on im-switch

Remember you need a net connection, because everything is downloaded. If 
you chose your language during install and without a net connection set 
up during install, you'll have to install it afterwards (redo the wiki 
steps)

Can you tell me if it was your case?

If you are using some different Asian language than these 3, could you 
tell me also?
