No, it's not a new package. I'm guessing it was removed during the
upgrade for some reason. I did notice that, oddly, trying to install
nvidia-settings will remove nvidia-glx. Ironically, the nvidia-settings
package recommends installing nvidia-glx. Think I will file a bug on
that one.
Anyway, the point is if you had nvidia-settings installed it may have
removed nvidia-glx.
