The saga continues...

Found out that:

jaska at jjod600n:~$ dpkg -S libGL.so.1.2
diversion by xorg-driver-fglrx from: /usr/lib/libGL.so.1.2
diversion by xorg-driver-fglrx to:
/usr/share/fglrx/diversions/libGL.so.1.2
xorg-driver-fglrx: /usr/lib/libGL.so.1.2
diversion by xorg-driver-fglrx from: /usr/lib/libGL.so.1.2
diversion by xorg-driver-fglrx to:
/usr/share/fglrx/diversions/libGL.so.1.2

Earlier I tried installing libgl1-mesa, so now I tried
this xorg-driver-fglrx. However, aptitude install didn't
work, it did download the package. Now I'm getting this
kind of error:

jaska at jjod600n:~$ sudo dpkg -i
/var/cache/apt/archives/xorg-driver-fglrx_7.0.0-8.25.18+2.6.15.11-1_i386.deb

Errors were encountered while processing:
  /var/cache/apt/archives/xorg-driver-fglrx_7.0.0-8.25.18+2.6.15.11-1_i386.deb

If I'm reading that right, which I probably am not, the
install script wants to insert two versions of one library
with the same name. Apparently this isn't possible.

I could file a bug, if someone could verify my thoughts
about this.

This is a bit of a nastier one, since I'm afraid to
shutdown this machine now cause lots of important packages
are uninstallable, and I'm expecting that a boot up
wouldn't be successful. This is a laptop, so I have to be
really careful with it. :)
