Could you shead some more light on that 'way faster' part of your last
sentence?

I'm running breezy on my laptop and home PC, I'll switch to dapper on my
home PC as soon as downloading hype dies down a bit...

But, on breezy, for instance, gnome-terminal is awfully slow. Consider
this:

Open gnome-terminal, make it full screen, and run this:

time echo "for f in range(1,100000): print f," | python

and see how fast is it. Then, do the same, just do it inside xterm.

Here are my results:

gnome-terminal:
real 0m40.649s
user 0m0.237s
sys 0m0.018s
mario at buntor:~$

xterm:
real 0m1.801s
user 0m0.206s
sys 0m0.022s
mario at buntor:~$

Some difference, huh?
