resolution problem

I have installed ubuntu 5.10
My motherboard is intel 845 chipset, P4 and LG 700E monitor
but now the resolution is 640*480 & I'm not able to change it.

Also while installing dapper drake the resolution was very low that
I could'nt proceed beyond the location select window.
Pls help me at the earliest.
