Wireless setup

I am attempting to set up a wireless network to one of my computers and not having much luck with it.
   
  I've use this computer in the past with a MS-Windoze system so I know it will work.
   
  The equipment I am using is:
   
    2wire Model 2700HG-B router.
   
    Netgear Model WG111US wireless adapter.
   
  Using iwconfig I get the following results:
   
  802.11b/g ESSID:"2wire293"
  mode: Managed Channel: 4 Access Point: Not-Associated
  Bit rate = 11Mb/s S sensitivity = 4/6
  Retry: on Fragment thr: off
  Link quality : 0 Rx invalid crypt:0 Noise level: 0
  Tx exsessive retries:0 Invalid misc: 0 Missed beacon: 0
   
  Can someone help me set this thing up.
