Nvidia + Toshiba + acpi=off

Hi,

I have used the above configuration with a Tecra A4 6.06 and I'm unable 
to get the nvidia module to run with acpi on.  I receive the following 
message in my Xorg.0.log

(**) NVIDIA(0): Use of NVIDIA internal AGP requested
(EE) NVIDIA(0): The NVIDIA kernel module does not appear to be receiving
(EE) NVIDIA(0):     interrupts generated by the NVIDIA graphics device.
(EE) NVIDIA(0):     Please see the FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS section in the
(EE) NVIDIA(0):     README for additional information.
(EE) NVIDIA(0): Failed to initialize the NVIDIA graphics device!
(EE) NVIDIA(0):  *** Aborting ***

This would indicate an interrupt issue however I'm unable to change this 
because it's a laptop.

Any ideas?
