can't find /usr/include/ncurses

Hi group,

Been trying to install picprg3.0 from a tarball which
fails when it can't find /usr/include/ncurses/curses.h


But synaptic says ncurses-base, -bin and -term are
installed as well as libncurses5 and libncursew5.

Also pppconfig, which uses ncurses, works OK.

FWIW running breezy.

Anybody got a clue?
