eth0 missing - Dapper counts from eth1 to eth3

I just upgraded to 6.06, and now have the same problem, that eth0 is
gone.
On the previous distribution, I edited a configuration file somewhere
to set the MAC-address of eth0 at startup, but I cannot remember
where.
Now I have eth0 with the MAC-address it should have in iftab, and eth0
with all the correct settings in /etc/network/interfaces.
However, ifconfig -a starts with eth1.
Please help me get this right!
