Firefox open application

Try setting " browser.download.hide_plugins_without_extensions"  to
"false" in about:config, then go back to the
Edit-Preferences-Downloads-View, and you should see a whole lot more
options. You might have to restart Firefox, not sure - it's a while since
I hit on this solution.

Once these options are shown, you can change them in the "View & Edit"
dialogue.
