Md5sums and burning CDs

Wrong. k3b is in the repositories. http://packages.ubuntulinux.org/dapper/otherosfs/k3b

In this case, I'd suggest to use apt-get/aptitude/synaptic/... to
install it from the repositories ;)

Note: I don't know if k3b is in universe, multivers or main. I
just know, that I could install it with aptitude.
