We haven't established that he in fact /does/ need them. I'm waiting on
his report for 2.6.15-26.45-686 (whether sound is jerky or not by
default from a fresh cold-boot).
The position_fix parameter changes how the current position in the sound
buffer is tracked in the driver. Certain DSPs have quirks that can be
alleviated (to varying degrees of success).
