Agreed, but I usually run fsck or chkdsk (for my few Windows servers) 
about once per month. It generally gives a good idea of file system 
health on my servers and can detect and repair minor problems or 
inconsistancies before they become major ones, except in the case of 
Windows where these "minor" problems sometimes become major ones simply 
by running chkdsk to "fix" the file system. :-\
