SMP 2.6 kernel availability

$ uname -a

i686 GNU/Linux


Ubuntu kernels are now SMP by default - the output above is from the 686
kernel I'm running right now, which is the standard i686 kernel 

$ apt-cache policy linux-image-2.6.15-26-686
linux-image-2.6.15-26-686:
  Installed: 2.6.15-26.44
  Candidate: 2.6.15-26.44
