no X on new Dell with Radeon X600 card

I don't know anything about that particular problem, but when I've had
systems where a live CD worked and the installed CD didn't, I've
sometimes just saved the /etc/X11/xorg.conf file from the Live CD and
dropped in onto the installed system.  Back up the non-working one
before you do this.
