You will need all of portage obviously
All of distfiles is a LOOOOOOOOOOT of stuff, you are most unlikely to
ever need 80% of that :-)
The only stage you will need is the current one you plan to use, and
that is likely to be the current stage 3 for your arch. No sense to d/l
the sparc stages if you have x86 f'rinstance
If you don't use experimental, then don't d/l any of it.
You won't need grp either unless you plan to run pre-compiled binaries
and NOT compile them yourself. Unlikely = this is gentoo after all...
