If ubuntu doesn't see your walkman as a standard usb drive, you're
probably out of luck, unless you can get the sony software working
under wine <http://www.winehq.com/>.

Probably your best bet would be to sell the walkman to someone who
doesn't mind running windows and replacing it with a linux-compatible
player, of which there are plenty.
