breezy(2.6.12)->dapper(2.6.15) => e100 do not work

I had precisely the same problem (except with a 386 kernel and not k7)
with the same e100 module, and just as you pointed out, /etc/iftab
didn't match the MAC address in lshw.  I changed iftab to match,
rebooted, and everything is happy.



My Breezy configuration didn't have udev (which uses /etc/iftab). 
Perhaps there's a bug in the Dapper udev package configuration when
upgrading from Breezy.  I only have a single NIC plugged in, so I don't
know where it could have gotten the bad MAC address.  It was a legal MAC
address, at least.
