Software RAID in Dapper ??

Here's what I've got

   1. Dapper ( the alternate CD )
   2. Two sata HD's

Here's what I want

   1. Software RAID 1
   2. ext3 for /boot
   3. ext3 for /
   4. LVM for everything else

Here's what happens

   1. I partition the drive for RAID
         1. 100 for /boot
         2. 1 G for /
         3. everything else
   2. I select setup raid
         1. it builds all the md devices ( 0, 1, 2 )
   3. I setup LVM
         1. mark RAID set 2 for LVM
   4. I select "setup LVM" ( something like that )

Step 4 gives me an error message.

Error informing the kernal about modifications to partition
/dev/md/1p1 -- invalid argument. This means Linux won't know about
any changes you made to /dev/md/1p1untile you reboot -- so you
shouldn't mount it or use it in any way before rebooting.

In my case /dev/md/1p1 is my root partition and set as ext3. I have
tried installing Ubuntu several times. Each time I get the same error
message. What's going on here?
