Changeover from dialup to Road Runner problems.

I don't seem to have that exact file----what I have is /etc/resolvconf 
and /etc/resolv.conf.

As far as I can tell, neither of these files show anything involving 
network configuration..

I've never had a need to configure a network before so I don't have a 
clue how to do this and the documentation I've examined seems to be 
directed to those who already have some knowledge of networking.
