mounting lvm from an ubuntu live cd

i found out that running this command "sudo lvdisplay" gives information
about the logical volumes on the system. after finding out what the names
are for the devices, they can be mounted just like partitions. i have to use
the recursive option in chmod to change all of the files and directories so
i had privileges to write to them.
