Yes.  Pressing F4 or F7 makes both the bookmarks and the buttons appear
or disappear.    This is the problem.  The two are intertwined.  You
can't have one without the other, which is just plain stupid.

Bookmarks on the left == Good.
Large needless buttons taking up space == Bad.
