how to adjust the partion size of ubuntu 6.06?

When I start from the live cd and I use the command mount to see where the
hda3 is mounted, I find that the hda3 is not in the mount table. But when I
use the gparted I find all the partition are locked. Then I use the command
sudo umount /dev/hda3 to umount hda3, but it failed. How can I umount the
hda3? I change the size of hda4 and I find I can only enlarge the hda4 by
free space *FOLLOW* this partion. I want to use the space before this
partion to enlarge hda4? Is it possible for me to do that?
Thank you very much!
