You should panic :)

Well. For a start, please describe in more detail your situation.
You write something about "the partition size". *WHAT* partition?
You surely don't have everything on *one* partition, do you? Because
that would be quite bad (very inflexible).

Further, please describe your current partitioning. For a start,
send the output of "sudo /sbin/sfdisk -l". See man sfdisk to see
what -l does.
