When is a new kernel released?

Where is dapper-backport stuff usually discussed? Or, what mailing lists
do you subscribe to, so I can narrow my search?

That is good to know, but I hope I don't have to wait that long to get

Actually, since I posted I found a howto on the forums and it seems its
not that complicated. The process seemed similar to what is needed to
compile a dapper kernel, which I have done now a few times in this ipod
saga.
