can anjuta do python?

I don't think it can really do python.  It seems to know 
what python is and will let you create python files.  But it 
doesn't do auto-indenting nor syntax highlighting.  Improved 
support for other languages seems to be on their todo list, 
but its not done yet.

I know you said you wanted to use anjuta and weren't really 
looking for recommendations, but Ive heard good things about 
eclipse's python support.  Having said that emacs, screen, 
and ipython are my friend when I'm charming the snake.
