Latest breaking news about IPV6 is not as enthusiastic as the Ubuntu
group :-) (don't shoot the messenger)

Slowly Building up to IPv6
Despite a June 2008 deadline, less than 4 percent of federal agencies
have migrated to IPv6 and less than 8 percent have finalized transition
plans. While agencies are adding IPv6-capable hardware and software to
their networks, questions surrounding security, privacy and other
migration issues are slowing progress. Respondents also consider IPv6
strictly an IT issue, rather than a business driver. IPv6 advantages
include increased support for mobile applications, mandatory support for
IP Security and QOS, and easier merging of networks. These benefits just
aren't compelling enough, says a Burton Group analyst. The business case
will strengthen in the next decade, but "I just don't believe we need to
spend money on it today," he says. One company that cares — very much —
about IPv6 is Google. An intent to cash in on it is behind the Internet
giant's seemingly mysterious purchase of dark fiber, according to some.
