Open up the GIMP (Applications -> Graphics -> GIMP Image Editor). It's a
very powerful tool, though the learning curve can be steep.
You should see two squares of color corresponding to the foreground and
background colors. These default to black and white, respectively.
Click on, say, the foreground color. Now you can select any color and
see the corresponding HSV, RGB, and CMYK values. Click the next tab for
a HSV color wheel thing. Click the next tab for CMYK. Click the next tab
for a funky mixer thing.
What you're most concerned with, though, is that once you've got a
color, the hexadecimal RGB values appear in the HTML Notation box.
